Uttam Manna

The winner of the S. M. Sultan Award in Bangladesh and the Kalaa Spandan Art Fair Award, Uttam Manna is an artist who has conducted several solo and group shows which are well-known around India and internationally. A few of his exhibitions were held at the Birla Academy of Art and Culture and the India Habitat Centre. Inspired by various ethnic forms, Manna believes in the liberating power of art. He claims that art is a splendid stress buster for him and he is happy that his passion has taken after his vocation. He seeks ideas from various sources and adds his creative touch to them to make unique pieces of artwork. The artist says that for producers of art, beauty lies in all the things they encounter in their day-to-day lives and assures that anything can be transformed into a piece of art.
