Our preoccupations with art may be irresolute, but what we see and understand is usually perceived as the truth. And what of the experiences that traverse beyond the scope of visibility and entice other human senses – wherein lie concepts that demand to be visualized; concepts that make their presence felt through the vibrations and harmonies that connect everything around us.We see, hear and feel a potpourri of experiences that propel us into distant realities that make us want to explore the unknown.
C.Douglas, creates works open to multiple interpretations where chaos and creativity coexist in a suspended fluidity and simultaneity, all leaving traces on the torn, collaged and crumpled paper, smoothed by charcoal, crayons and chalk. Vijay Pichumani speaks about his self and body as an art form which transverse into the experiences and feels the dilution of the wholeness, the body into the nature, while Harish talks about underlying philosophies of agriculture and civilization through his work. R Janarthanan, affirms that the human being that is worked in layers are sometimes perceptible to the eye and sometimes not, as it is composed of the same boundless and limitless space that surrounds it and SaravananParasuraman uses metal ball bearings to create geomorphic shapes that invite the touch, a somber chroma, and the creation of 'natural' forms through industrial material lending the sculptures an enduring and vulnerable aspect.
