Jasu Rawal
Veteran artist Jasu Rawal firmly believes in Paul Klee's principle, which says "art does not reproduce what is visible, but rather makes it visible." Initially working with figurative works, Rawal’s transformation to his popular dream-like works was inspired by the boldness of abstract paintings, and he found the use of colours as a means of expression interesting. His compositions, characterized by minimalism and surrealism, carry a personalized touch, offering glimpses into the artist’s visions of landscapes and objects in his surroundings. Notably, Rawal, a two-time awardee of the Karnataka Lalit Kala Akademi, opts to leave his works "Untitled," inviting viewers to interpret and experience the moods and dreams encapsulated within. Jasu Rawal lives and works in Bengaluru.
