Narendran Babu’s brilliantly coloured canvasses and meticulous lines allow his forms to travel in his canvas endlessly and take their places assigned by him. They seem to be undisturbed and unperturbed by the other’s presence, are very comfortable in their space and together create a coherent unit of nature.
His love and fascination for movement in his paintings continues. No form is isolated and they share space with ease. His works include humans, animals, birds, reptiles, flowers, fruits; all intertwined with decorative patterns and designs. His fascination for detailing takes us into his world of fantasy where forms are composed within forms with sinuous lines. Born in 1961, in Chennai, Narendra Babu’s works are individualistic. They are narrative paintings which have a link with Indian tradition. His paintings are representations of his dreams and he captures them vividly in his distinct style.
