'ABSENCE AND PRESENCE'
'Absence and presence' is an investment of colour and form with a spirit that reproduces appearence and absence of the visible world that is characteristically modern. T. Athiveerapandian's sensibility and temperament is one of the beauties that has flowered beyond the space of the canvas. It is worthwhile to follow his path and consider his developed personality over a period of time. One is struck by his connection with past canvases though the pace of events occured then on is recorded in each of these canvases. Though an emphasis on juxtaposition of colours is clearly apparent, form and space seem to be dominating. His sophisticated earler compositions is now rather complicated, at times hiding behind a network of textured pigmented surfaces. These canvases are caught between alove for the past and asincere commitment towards the future. It is a delight to see him establish an abstract aesthetic of multiple confrontations of contrasting warm and cool colours.
